Isabell Werth wins the Word Cup presented by the Gaston & Kathrin Glock family

International world top dressage riders, almost completely sold-out spectator stands and a practically magical atmosphere: this was the premiere of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage presented by the Gaston & Kathrin Glock family in Salzburg. For the first time at the Mevisto Amadeus Horse Indoors, one leg of this top-level series was carried out on Austrian soil. The best of the best were competing and, in the end, it was the grande dame of equestrian sports who was able to celebrate a glorious victory.

In this audience-grabbing musical freestyle, the 27-time championship medal winner Isabell Werth (GER) and Don Johnson FRH danced to victory accompanied by swinging sounds. With 84.125 % the two were unanimously voted into first place by all judges. “I was really happy with ‘Johnny’. He did a really good job, despite the fact that the degree of difficulty of our freestyle was very high. The conditions here in Salzburg are extraordinarily positive; to have a stable for yourself and a lot of peace is something very special” was Isabell Werth’s resume, addressing the hall that was rented specially for the dressage riders on the grounds of the trade fair area. Here the ‘GLOCK Stable Area’ provided the World Cup participants with an exclusive stable building and a separate warm-up ground for themselves.

For the World Cup premiere in Salzburg, GLOCK rider Edward Gal (NED) had saddled the 13-year-old black stallion GLOCK's Voice. With a strong and expressive performance, accompanied by the music composed by famous Dutch composer Joost Peters, the duo achieved second place (80.900 %) commenting enthusiastically: "Salzburg is a fantastic event. 'Voici' was really great, we just made some tiny mistakes. But I’ll be really happy to come again next year.”
Third place went to Unee BB and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER) who, with their musical freestyle to film music from Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean, delighted both spectators and judges. (80.075%).

The organiser, Josef Göllner of horsedeluxe Event GmbH, expressed to the Gaston and Kathrin Glock family his thanks for their having made it possible to bring the World Cup to Austria. “Naturally this is an altogether special highlight for an event organiser. I hope that we will also have the honour of staging a dressage world cup stage next year too and can only thank the Gaston and Kathrin Glock family for this year because, without their sponsoring, the staging of this event would not have been possible.”

In the overall standings in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2015/2016 now after five rounds, Patrik Kittel (SWE) is in the lead with 54 points, ahead of Marcela Krinke Susmelj (SUI) and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER). Werth and Gal currently stand ex aequo in seventh place with 37 points.
