Firefly H jumps to victory in the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour

It was a chance for talented young horses aged between seven and eight to grab the limelight today in the late afternoon in the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour. The course over 1.30/1.35 m offered a nicely flowing ride and presented the future champs with an outstanding opportunity to debut in the four-day event. Almost half of the 22 participating duos starting remained penalty-free. A result that underlined the quality of the young animals.

“Ahead by a nose” was literally how Firefly H, a mare raised in the Netherlands, finished. With her rider Victoria Gulliksen (NOR), the just seven-year-old daughter of Douglas put on a magnificent show and cantered over the line in 59.92 seconds.

“Firefly is very brave and always gives her best over the course. I did hope that victory might be possible - and so it was!” said the great female rider in her interview. Also hailing from The Netherlands was the second-placed duo. Marc Houtzager (NED) piloted the eight-year-old gelding Edinus, bred from Padinus, over the line in 61.88 seconds. Third place was to go to Karel Cox (BEL) riding Clintissima van Spalbeek Z, a Zangersheide mare bred from Clintissimo Z (0/63.50).
