Lynch made it! Victory in the CSI5* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour

Day two (02/02) of International Show Jumping at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Austria began on schedule at 8:15am with the CSI5* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour, with 30 rider-horse duos ready to start. The competition over 1.50 m was organised as an international 2-phase jumping test, in which those riders with a penalty-free first phase moved on directly to tackle the six obstacles in the second phase.

It was a smooth and, above all, fast round that Denis Lynch (IRL) rode today. His 12-year-old KWPN mare, Pretty Little Liar, was a congenial partner under the saddle and the time of 34.07 seconds delivered victory in this 2-phase competition over 1.50 m. “It’s wonderful to be here, we’ve dined so well, had some wonderful experiences and now winning too – that’s super”, so moved was Denis Lynch by star-chef Alfons Schuhbeck’s cuisine, the sport and that GLOCK ambiance at the morning’s award ceremony.

Totally happy too was GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder. The Dutch rider had aimed for a fast time right from the start, with his 11-year-old GLOCK’s Dobelensky, son of Cornet-Obolensky, jumping smoothly on, yielding second place for the GLOCK Duo in 34.79 seconds.

Occupying third place was Jur Vrieling (NED), the winner of yesterday’s GLOCK’s Perfection Tour (Friday, 01/02/2019). For this 2-phase competition, the Dutch rider had saddled up his nine-year-old DSP gelding, KM Chalcedon, and also remained penalty-free in both phases (0/35.82).
