Homey & Emma Augier de Moussac are the best in the GLOCK’s Youngster Tour

Twenty-four hopeful youngster horses aged between seven and eight had been nominated by their riders for the first of three jumping competitions in the traditional GLOCK’s Youngster Tour.

As to which of the four-legged youngster hopes we will see at 5-star level in a few years time, that’s something we cannot yet predict at this point in time with 100% confidence. After all, anyone ready to be dazzled exclusively by an imposing style of jumping or top-class pedigree may miss their chance to discover their very own future star-horse. Ultimately the chemistry between rider and horse also needs to be right, if a youngster is to be turned into a champion.

Today those in perfect harmony included seven-year-old Homey, daughter of Cardento 933 x Heartbreaker, and her 29-year-old rider Emma Augier des Moussac. Capability, talent and harmony, along with the necessary quantum of good fortune, meant a hair’s-breadth margin of a hundredth of a second and first place (0/ 69.38) for the KWPN mare and her rider from the Czech Republic.

“This is my first time here at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER and I wasn’t expecting a win straight away. But Homey jumped superbly today and I’m very happy with this success,” said the beaming winner of the CSIYH1* GLOCK’s Youngster Tour.

In second place (0/69.39) was another seven-year-old mare. Miss Marple, daughter of Ugano Sitte and a dam descended from Vigo d’Araouilles, was presented magnificently by Young Rider European Champion Olivier Philippaerts (BEL). Occupying third place were the Swedish duo of eight-year-old La Lou (Sandro Boy x Concerto II) and Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli.
