GLOCK meets Vienna

Vienna’s town hall made a dramatic backdrop for the CSI5* Longines Global Champions Tour at the Vienna Masters: even the world’s best riders rarely jump in an arena as spectacular as the square in front of the Gothic building.

The magical atmosphere created for GASTON GLOCK’s Championat held at the Vienna Masters for the first time seemed only fitting. Like a rare flower, it burst into glory for three hours and then disappeared again. Although only temporary, the setting on Friday evening was stunning with special GLOCK jumps, beautiful GLOCK floral arrangements, exclusively designed GLOCK trophies, a catchy GLOCK signature tune, music specially composed for GLOCK at the victory ceremony and naturally Christian Clerici as the GLOCK presenter honouring the winner.

Daniel Deusser, the reigning German champion and team silver medal winner at the European Championships in Herning, showed true GLOCK perfection in the jump-off at this 1.50 m world ranking competition. Riding eight-year-old Fyloe van het Claeyssenhof sired by Burggraaf, he was one of only seven to go clear in the first round and in the jump-off was nothing short of brilliant, clinching the win.

GLOCK rider Gerfried Puck also put in a great performance aboard GLOCK’s Wibo B for a fantastic finish to this wonderful weekend on the town hall square. In the world ranking 1.45 m accumulator on Sunday (22 September), the GLOCK duo was the best Austrian pair and claimed the excellent second place.
