GLOCK Riders on the road to success in Rome and Kronenberg

During the past tournament weekend, the Dutch GLOCK Riders Gerco Schröder, Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud were to be seen at two different venues. Because, whilst Gerco Schröder participated from 26th till 29th of May in the top-notch CSIO5*-NC Rome (ITA)  with GLOCK’s Cognac Champblanc N.O.P., GLOCK’s Zaranza and GLOCK’s Lausejunge, on Sunday the two GLOCK dressage riders Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud embarked on qualification for the Dutch dressage championships in Kronenberg with GLOCK’s Zonik and Dream Boy.

Top performances in the "The Eternal City"
The two-times silver medal winner in the London 2012 Olympic Games, Gerco Schröder, and impressive Holstein horse GLOCK’s Cognac Champblanc N.O.P., kicked off successfully in Rome. In the CSIO5* opening test over 1.45 m on Thursday, the duo delivered a penalty-free round, coming 15th. KWPN stallion GLOCK’s Zaranza (of Karandasj), and the just nine-year-old Westphalian gelding GLOCK’s Lausejunge, also presented themselves in top form, remaining penalty-free over 1.50 m and 1.55 m.

Friday was dominated by the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™, in which Gerco and "Cognac", together with Jur Vrieling, Jeroen Dubbeldam and Maikel van der Vleuten, formed the Dutch team. The course over 1.60 m in two rounds was quite tricky and, in the end, the Oranjes made it to fifth place.

On Saturday under Gercos saddle, "Zaranza" got a placing for the second time. In the Small Grand Prix (1.55 m) with jump-off, the two made it to the decisive test and came 15th. GLOCK’s Lausejunge gave a top performance on Sunday. In his very first CSIO5* Grand Prix over 1.60 m, he confirmed his great potential by reaching the target line with just one knock-down and one time penalty point.
Passed with flying colours at qualification for the Dutch Championships.

Great results at the qualification for the national Championships
On Sunday (29/05) the Dutch dressage elite met up at the Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen for qualification for the national Championships. In the Prix St. Georges, Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud presented young talents GLOCK’s Zonik and Dream Boy. Eddie and "Zonik", raised from Blue Hors Zack, triumphed in the qualification test with a score of 77.85 %, Hans Peter and Vivaldi-offspring Dream Boy followed with 76.93 % in second place. Thus both GLOCK duos easily fulfilled the qualification criteria and everybody can look forward to seeing them again in Ermelo.
