Great success in Italy and Russia

The Austrian team only had one chance left to qualify for the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ final in Barcelona (ESP) from 26 to 29 September 2013: although facing stiff competition, they needed at least a sixth place at the CSIO3* in Arezzo (ITA). Consistently good results with GLOCK’s Prince de Vaux had earned GLOCK rider Dieter Köfler a spot on the national team for Arezzo and he did not disappoint here either. Riding his ten-year-old chestnut gelding, he posted two strong rounds in the 1.50 m Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ qualifier, thus helping the Austrian team to secure sixth and ultimately also a place in the final in Barcelona.

The San Marino Grand Prix was scheduled for Sunday. With an obstacle height of 1.60 m, it was not only a qualifier for the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy but also a world ranking competition. The pressure may have been on, but Glock duo Dieter Köfler and GLOCK’s Prince de Vaux were incredibly relaxed in the first round. They also went clear in the jump-off to finish an excellent third.

Gerfried Puck and GLOCK’s Wibo B, on the other hand, headed for Chernyakhovsk (RUS). It was a long journey, but worth it to compete in the CSI4*. The two were both fast and fault-free in the 1.45 m opening competition on Friday, which put them in an excellent fifth position. In the 1.45 m speed class on Saturday, GLOCK’s Wibo B again proved how agile he can be. Despite a knockdown at an obstacle, the pair was fast enough to claim a top placing: ninth.
