The GLOCK’s 2* Tour starts with a red-white-red double victory

It was with the GLOCK’s 2* Tour over 1.35 m that Austria’s one and only 5-star show jumping tournament, three days of Horses & Stars at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Austria, started today (08/06/2018), having drawn the world’s best riders from 17 nations to Carinthia.

Twenty four rider-horse duos had registered in the list of starters and ultimately it was 23-year-old Willi Fischer from Upper Austria who emerged in top position. With his 10-year-old Oldenburg mare Dollargirl (Dollar King x Picard), the winner of the CSI2* Grand Prix of Linz and winner of the international U25 Tour in Budapest (HUN) succeeded in overcoming his international competition. Ranked number seven among Austrian show jumping riders, he galloped over the finishing line in 67.06 seconds with no penalties. “Not only I but also my team always do their homework properly. I train thoroughly with my trainer Thomas Frühmann and my mum takes care of my horses every day. If, like today, we enjoy that necessary little bit of luck, then fantastic placings like this can happen, a delight of course.”, said a beaming Willi Fischer at the official award ceremony.

Taking second place was another youthful red-white-red talent, namely 21-year-old Alessandra Reich (W) and her 17-year-old KWPN gelding U Mijnheer, healthy again following a severe tendon injury, who cleared the 13 jumps in 67.78 seconds.

Third place in this international show jumping competition against the clock with penalties went to Australia, represented by 24-year-old Evie Buller and her 12-year-old KWPN gelding Vanda Platinum, who also counted among the total of eight penalty-free duos. The practised duo reached the finish in 69.85 seconds and thus also had the pleasure of receiving a beautiful GLOCK’s trophy.
