Excitement to the last with Alex Duffy (IRL)

The start of the Youngster Tour today was exciting right up to the very last rider. A field of 36 international competitors had entered their seven and eight-year-old horses in the 1.35 m jump class and once again it was Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), famous for his fast rounds, on seven-year-old Oldenburg stallion Caspar 232 who went into the lead. He looked difficult to beat with a fast time of 59.20. Again the last starter went flat out, however, putting paid to the Italian’s hopes. Alex Duffy (IRL) piloted his Heartbreaker son Bocello, also a seven-year-old, to the finish in 58.90 seconds and was thus a shade faster. “It’s such a wonderful show here and now the win, it’s all simply unbelievable!” The number 24 in the world, Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), on the seven-year-old Holstein gelding G and C Bonasera (by Carpaccio) lived up to his reputation in third (62.73).

Two of GLOCK’s youngsters gained points in this competition: GLOCK rider Robert Puck posted an easy clear round with the eight-year-old Calato son GLOCK’s Alato SR for fifth place and GLOCK rider Gerfried Puck also produced a flawless ride on seven-year-old GLOCK’s Chamonix B to take eleventh.
