Bitter was better! Eva Bitter triumphs in GLOCK's 2* Grand Prix

The second international jumping competition over 1.45 m was presented in a manner fitting for GLOCK's CSI2* Grand Prix, and was decided in the jump off. Thirty-one participating duos were entered in the list of starters, while eight of them achieved rides without obstacle faults. But only three of them came to the jump off, because five duos were ruled out by the time limit.

At the deciding stage, first to the start was Marianne Schindele (AUT/K) with her nine-year-old Merrywell Alfie Douglas, who immediately executed a magnificent fault-free round in 49.78 seconds. But her time was beaten directly by the next rider, reigning German champion Eva Bitter and her extremely agile Hanoverian stallion Perigueux. She was three seconds faster than the Carinthian, 46.33 seconds was now the time to beat.

As last duo in the jump off, Jillian Terceira (BER) and her Tamerino tried to get below it but, after knocking down a fence early on, Saturday’s winner lost a little pace and finished GLOCK's 2* Grand Prix in third place. "For me, victory here in GLOCK's 2* Grand Prix is sure to make the 1000 km journey home seem a bit shorter!”, joked Eva Bitter at the winner’s interview. “I’ve enjoyed this weekend to the full and this was the crowning glory on which to finish!”

Gaining placings for the Alpine republic alongside second-placed Marianne Schindele were Jürgen Krackow (S) on Ailonka (5th), Matthias Atzmüller (OÖ) on Activity B (8th), Sabrina Pollhammer (B) on Bal Pare 2 (9th), Monika Niederländer (V) on Cornet 2 (10th), Markus Stock (K) on Quick Step 6 (11th) and Patrick Prömer (St) on Whinny Loretto (13th).
