Friday, 25 July 2014 CSI5* CSI2* CSIYH1* CSIAm-A

Day two starts with a victory for Austria by Jürgen Krackow (S)!

What a speedy opening round! Today Juergen Krackow (AUT/S) raced with his grey stallion Boulharouz as third but last starter through the CSI2* 1.40 m course and, with a time of 64.11 seconds, easily beat the time of Australian rider Jamie Winning who had led till then. The Salzburg-based rider impressed not only with his time but also the exact turns and correctly estimated distances, as well as the bitless bridle called a Bosal, which he had chosen for his stallion. "I would like to show that even in the big sports, horses can be presented successfully with alternative bridles instead of snaffle bits” explained Juergen Krackow in the winner’s interview, having already achieved third place yesterday.

Also Jamie Winning (AUS), who came second with his seven-year-old Holsteiner mare Zarissa, was able to improve (65.44) yesterday’s excellent result (7th place). Swiss rider Clarissa Crotta, with Carpaccio’s daughter Caprice, was able to succeed on the pedestal in the 2*-Tour, for the second time this weekend, with third best timing of 67.16 seconds.

With another four placements, Austria’s balance was excellent. Places four to seven were occupied by Dr. Georg Hladik (NÖ) with Parcival Z (0/69.18 – 4th pl.), Marianne Schindele (K) with Merrywell Alfie Douglas (0/69.70 – 5th pl.), Monika Niederländer (V) with Cornet 2 (0/69.78 – 6th pl.) and Peter Englbrecht (OÖ) with Celine 2 (0/70.62 – 7th pl.).
