Debut for new GLOCK dream team

Whatever Gaston and Kathrin Glock tackle, they believe in planning with great care and perfection down to the very last detail. With major championships ahead, it therefore comes as no surprise that they took this logical decision: as of today GLOCK’s Romanov is in the expert hands of GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud.

“We aim to compete in European championships and the Olympics. After Jerich Parzifal and GLOCK’s Undercover, GLOCK’s Romanov is the Dutch dressage horse with the best results. We both want the GLOCK riders to have good horses,” is the clear statement from the GLOCKs.

GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud and GLOCK’s Romanov are a strong team with no end of potential. Their next task is to qualify for the Dutch A team. Today was their debut at the dressage competition in Uden (NED) and scoring 72.23% it was not only an important step in the right direction for the new GLOCK dream team but also their first win. “I was a little bit nervous myself,” said GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud very pleased with the elegant GLOCK stallion and their successful premiere, “but it felt sensational!”

The popular, highly coveted dressage and breeding stallion has been ridden by GLOCK rider Edward Gal since 2011 and since January 2013 has borne the name GLOCK (see GLOCK News of 11 Jan 2013).

Born in 2000, his sire was Rohdiamant and dam Grundstein II’s mother. He was Reserve Champion of the Oldenburg Approval in 2002 and stabled at the Blue Hors stud in Denmark. In 2004 he was the best dressage stallion at the Danish Herning Approval, in 2005 champion of the dressage 5-year-olds in Denmark and in 2008 VTV sport stallion of the year.

Ridden by Sune Hansen (DEN), he placed in Grand Prix tests. In 2010, he won the Medien Cup in Hamburg, came second in the Grand Prix Special in Verden and won the Grand Prix in Copenhagen. He took part in the European Championships with the Danish team in 2011. Under GLOCK rider Edward Gal he found a new winning formula and in 2012 alone earned five top three placings in 's-Hertogenbosch (CDI4*), Rotterdam (CDI3*) and Odense (CDI-W). This year in the Reem Acra World Cup Dressage in Amsterdam he also placed in the top three. GLOCK’s Romanov will now be presented by GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud.
