Girl power! Jillian Terceira (BER) winning the CSI2* jumping competition!

Not even a suggestion of fatigue was to be witnessed this morning amongst the 18 active riders in the CSI2* jumping competition in two phases, and thus the third competition day at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER kicked-off in lively fashion. Because anyone wanting to come first in this course over 1.45 m had to really speed up their canter and ride turns with a lot of skill. In this Jillian Terceira (BER) succeeded perfectly.  Starting as number five, the female rider and her twelve-year-old Hanoverian gelding Lakvels went into the test. She rode speedily and, with 37.19 seconds in the second phase, set a benchmark, which was not to be undercut by anybody. “I went to bed early like a good girl yesterday so I was in good form this morning. I still enjoyed the party though and am looking forward to this evening too,” said Jillian in the winner’s interview.

Australian rider Jamie Winning and her 16-year-old Wirragulla Nicklaus followed her closely and missed the benchmark time only narrowly (38.75). The female trio on the podium was completed by Suzanne Tepper (NED) on her nine-year old stallion Aksai Chin VDL of Chin Chin. Her time was 38.90 seconds, which meant a well-deserved ultimate third place.

So far, a placement with each of their starts was achieved by Carinthian rider Marianne Schindele on Merrywell Alfie Douglas as well as by the rider from Vorarlberg, Monika Niederlaender on Cornet 2. Today the two ladies ranking fourth and fifth lead a veritable Austrian package. Since also Dr. Georg Hladik (NÖ) on Parcival Z (6th pl.), Sabrina Pollhammer (B) on Salaro (7th pl.) and Juergen Krackow (S) on Ailonka (9th pl.) where able to take one of the beautiful GHPC – placing-ribbons home.
