Gudrun Pirker wins CSI1* for Styria

The time was incredible, the round perfect and the CSI1* opening win deservedly went to Gudrun Pirker. Riding her 15-year-old Swedish mare Alpenspan Citadelle in the opening competition, the Styrian from the Alpenspan-Remus Ladies Team was quite simply unbeatable with 48.78 seconds. “This here is our first event after the winter break. Then to win right away at this wonderful venue is absolutely amazing,” said the Alpenspan-Remus Ladies Team rider delighted at the winner’s interview.

Second place went to Carinthia – and also to the strong Alpenspan-Remus Ladies Team. It was Sandra Köfler who claimed it with a superb round aboard her eight-year-old Chaquino (51.19). Then it was a case of “youth to the fore!” Johanna Sixt, only 15 years old, showed her prowess on Holstein gelding Anturio to take third. Something she has already proved many times in the past. The talented young lady from Burgenland is the reigning Austrian Pony and Junior Champion and took silver with Austria’s Children’s Team at the European Championships in 2012.

Some 200 horses and their riders from 14 nations have again come to the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER this weekend to compete for wins and placings in the indoor event.

The 15 international show jumping competitions with €250,000 in prize money kicked off today with 17 CSI1* riders taking part in GLOCK’s Small Tour (1.15 m).
