Horses and Stars: the CSI5* International Show Jumping begins

For the fourth time now, from 15th till 18th June 2017, the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER AUSTRIA throws open its gates for a 5-star event. Eagerly awaited at the International Show Jumping are the best riders in the world from 19 nations, along with more than 220 horses. Expectations are high, given the exceptional concentration of stars among the nominated top athletes.

Excitement 18 times over at the course
From Thursday till Sunday you can cheer on your own personal idols a full 18 times at GHPC Austria. At stake for the riders are not only prize money totalling 601,000 euros but also five opportunities for points in the World Ranking list and potential qualification for the 2017 European Championships and the 2018 World Equestrian Games. So it’s no wonder that, alongside 38 riders from the current top 100 in the world, large numbers of Olympic, World and European Champions have also registered.

Qualification tests for all of the tours will open on Thursday (15/06) from 10am. From that point on, you can enjoy free entry to the chance to admire exciting sport ranging from the amateur class through youngsters to the professionals. The highlight is GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix with 345,000 euros of prize money, which will start on Sunday (18/06) at around 2:45pm.

The crème de la crème of the show jumping elite taking part
Look forward to seeing alongside those red-white-red top-athletes like Austria’s No. 1 Max Kühner (T), shooting star Christian Rhomberg (V) and top female Julia Kayser (T) appearances also from twice-World and European Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam (NED), GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder (NED), previous GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix winner Pius Schwizer (SUI), Olympic-silver-medallist Peder Fredricson (SWE) and top female rider Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (GER).
