Second place in the Nations Cup and several more top results for Gerco and the GLOCK horses

From May 21st till 25th 2015, the world’s best riders met up in order to represent their home countries at the CSIO5* Nations Cup tournament in Rome (ITA) in the highest nations prize league. GLOCK Rider Gerco Schroeder was summoned to the Dutch team for this important event with GLOCK's Cognac Champblanc. With GLOCK's Zaranza, Gerco took another GLOCK horse with him to the famous Piazza Di Siena. Directly at the foot of the beautiful park of Villa Borghese, it was a perfect backdrop for this top-class event.

Thanks to Gerco Schroeder’s calm and consistent basic training, GLOCK's Zaranza is also showing consistent development. And the beautiful eleven-year-old stallion was able to confirm this as early as on Thursday through a top performance. Gerco started this descendant of Karandasj x Heartbreaker in the CSIO5* test over 1.50 m with jump-off, and the GLOCK duo executed two penalty-free rounds to score fourth place.

On Friday too, GLOCK's Zaranza showed his class, ending up on the ninth place in the standard show jumping over 1.45 m. For the Small CSI5* Grand Prix over 1.55 m, GLOCK rider Gerco relied again on 'Zaranza'. Together the GLOCK Duo mastered both the basic course over 1.55 metres as well as the jump-off without penalties, ending up in an outstanding fifth place.

In the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ on Saturday, Gerco, in the saddle of twelve-year-old GLOCK's Cognac Champblanc, joined Jeroen Dubbeldam (Zenith SFN N.O.P.), Maikel van der Vleuten (VDL Groep Verdi TN N.O.P.) and Jur Vrieling (VDL Zirocco Blue N.O.P.) to form the Oranjes team. The two rounds of the Nations Cup took them over a challenging 1.60 metres and the battle for the top ranks was tight. In the end, Gerco, his team and their chef d'equipe, Rob Ehrens, were pleased with their second place.
