Talent test for GLOCK’s Casper at 1st Dutch WCYH Selection

The Netherlands is currently picking out the best talent for the 2013 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses to be held in Verden (GER) from 7 to 11 August 2013. Today, 2 April, saw the first Dutch WCYH selection trial. The horses going through to the next round still however have several tests ahead before actually qualifying for the World Championships.

In the hope of taking part in these prestigious championships, GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud presented GLOCK’s Casper (Westpoint x Goodtimes), a horse that moves very well. Registered with the Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands (KWPN), the six-year-old gelding was successful in the renowned Pavo Cup in 2012 and made it straight into the second round today. “GLOCK's Casper performed very well here,” said GLOCK trainer Nicole Werner after the first selection where the elegant Westpoint son impressed the panel with his throughness, well executed extended canter and fluid half-passes – among other things.

The Dutch selection process for the 2013 WCYH is scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, 2 April – 1st selection (preliminary test)
Tuesday, 9 April – 2nd selection (preliminary test)
Friday, 19 April – 3rd selection (preliminary test)
Tuesday, 18 June – 4th selection (main arena – finals test)
Monday, 1st July – 5th selection (main arena – finals test/coaching/videoing/vet inspection)
