We are European team champions!

What a day! What a victory! Up until the last rider today, it remained undecided who would be the winners of the first European championship medals. But then it became clear: The Netherlands are European team champions. The decisive last result for the gold medal was delivered by GLOCK rider  Edward Gal, who once more today presented a dream performance with GLOCK’s Undercover N.O.P. 82.229 % was the score Edward received for his Lambertz Grand Prix with ‘Fritsie’ and even though he could not yet see his score whilst still in the course – he could already feel it, since the last piaffe and passage to the stop at the final line was accompanied by a heart-melting smile on Eddie’s face.

“When I entered this impressive arena here in Aachen, the audience was still heavily applauding the previous rider and Fritsie was rather nervous. So I tried to calm things down and it worked quite well. I am really very happy with GLOCK’s Undercover N.O.P. and most of all about the fact that the  Gaston and Kathrin Glock family included us in their team. Without them these successes would not be possible.”

Patrick van der Meer with his Uzzo (72.400 %) and particularly Diederik van Silfhout with his Arlando N.O.P. (75.814 %) had already laid the foundations for success yesterday. But GLOCK Rider Hans Peter Minderhoud with his smart GLOCK's Johnson TN took it further. He achieved a sensational Grand Prix! With a score of 77.586 % he took fourth place for individual rating. “I’m just so happy! ‘Johnny‘ is getting better and better and today delivered another super result. Now we’ve brought the European Championship title home. Suberb!”

So it was that an exciting day closed with a beautiful medal award ceremony. There stood two GLOCK horses and two GLOCK riders – what a fantastic success.
Tomorrow is rest day for both riders and horses, before Saturday and Sunday see the final results of the Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle.
