World Cup points for GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder!

The beautiful Swiss city of Zurich was transformed into a hotspot for the world of international equestrian sport once again from January 23rd – 25th. At the renowned CSI5*-W tournament, World Cup points were at stake for the world’s best riders for the tenth time in the current season. One of the highly cherished invitations to this year’s highlight of Swiss equestrian sport had gone to GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder, who travelled there with GLOCK's London N.O.P., GLOCK's Zaranza and GLOCK's Ambelina JB.

Gerco made a good start on Friday with ten-year-old GLOCK's Ambelina JB. At the 'Preis der Top 40' over 1.45 m, he guided the KWPN mare of Berlin x Corland through the course fault-free. Next, in the Longines Grand Prix with jump-off, the GLOCK Rider put his faith in GLOCK's London N.O.P. The 13-year-old Belgian chestnut stallion mastered the course over 1.55 m in  an outstanding manner and the reward for this well executed ride was sixth place.

Steadily improving in form is GLOCK's Zaranza (Karandasj x Heartbreaker). Thanks to GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder’s gentle, targeted preparatory work, the handsome brown horse was able to demonstrate his potential once again on Saturday in the LGT Private Banking Challenge over 1.40 m, achieving seventh place. A second placing for Gerco and the eleven-year-old KWPN stallion followed promptly on Sunday. In the relay show jumping over 1.35 m, the GLOCK duo, together with the Gaston Glock's Championat winner of the Vienna Masters 2014, Irishman Denis Lynch riding Ho Go van de Padenborre, achieved tenth place.

Things got particularly exciting as the Longines FEI World Cup™ drew to a close. Awaiting the riders was a course over 1.60 m with all manner of technical subtleties and challenging lines. A mere 7 of the 40 duos who started managed to remain fault-free. GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder and GLOCK's London N.O.P. sustained an absolute dream round until the last obstacle; of all things to happen, one pole fell at the last oxer. Nevertheless there were World Cup points for the GLOCK dream team, because their good performance brought them up to 16th place.

From Thursday January 29th 2015, GLOCK Rider Gerco will be competing in his ‘home tournament’ at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER in Treffen (AUT). Full information about the tournament available here »
