Top debut for GLOCK’s Toto Jr.
The international three-star tournament in Tolbert in the Netherlands attracted a top field of starters to the province of Groningen. Among them was the team from GHPC, who were able to celebrate two debuts: GLOCK Rider Hans Peter Minderhoud presented the 13-year-old son of Totilas, GLOCK’s Toto Jr. (Totilas x Desperados FRH x Rotspon), for the first time in Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special, while GLOCK Rider-Trainer Ruben Mengual Reig made his international debut with GLOCK’s Flavio (Fidertanz x De Vito x Andiamo) in the U25 Tour. Also taking part: Invictus, who competed in the Grand Prix and musical freestyle under Hans Peter.
On their debut weekend, Hans Peter and GLOCK’s Toto Jr. already succeeded in shining in the three-star Grand Prix. With 73.554%, they took second place in an extremely strong field of starters, at what was only Toto’s third international tournament and after a three-year break from tournaments:
“There were a few places where I lost his concentration, but it’s been a long time since he was at a show. It was windy and he fell in love with the ponies during the warm-up, but we had our first start and we’ll keep practising hard!” said a delighted Hans Peter after the ride. He then managed an even better round in the Grand Prix Special and once again took second place with 73.766%.
Invictus, the eleven-year-old, highly talented KWPN gelding by Jack Sparrow x GLOCK’s Voice, needed the Grand Prix to get used to the atmosphere, but scored points the following day under Hans Peter Minderhoud with a fantastic and concentrated freestyle to achieve 73.658% and second place.
Also shining in silver was the third GHPC duo of the weekend in Tolbert: Ruben Mengual Reig, in the saddle on 12-year-old Hanoverian premium stallion GLOCK’s Flavio, cracked the 70% mark at the first attempt and placed second in Intermediaire II with 70.784%. In the musical freestyle, the pair also managed a beautiful round with almost 70%.
A fantastic weekend; may things continue like this for our Team GLOCK!
