CSI2* victory at a tearing pace for Philipp Schober (GER)

Speed, tight changes of direction and the right mix of risk and care, these were in demand today in the GLOCK’s CSI2* Tour over 1.40 m. The first jumping on day three of International Show Jumping at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER was conducted as a competition against the clock in which points for faults were converted into penalty seconds.

Philipp Schober (GER) finished his test completely free of penalties, shot over the line with his ten-year-old KWPN mare Alina in 66.12 seconds and secured his first victory at the GHPC as a result. "So far this weekend I’ve had three fourth places, but now at last I’ve landed a win! It’s a beautiful tournament, the horses feel good, we riders feel good – everything is just right" said the GLOCK’s CSI2* Tour winner.

Forced to concede victory by a narrow margin today was the woman placed first yesterday. Alessandra Reich (AUT), with her U Mijnheer, progeny of Triomphe de Muze, was just nine hundredths of a second behind Philipp Schober, her 66.21 seconds earning second place. Conor Drain from Ireland and his Zidane delivered the fastest time round the course by some margin at 64.67 seconds, but one knockdown and the consequent four penalty seconds raised that to 68.67 seconds, meaning third place.
