All set for action!

Austria’s international indoor event season kicks off at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER.
At the international season opening in Treffen, there are 15 individual competitions. Austria’s first international show of the year offering €250,000 in prize money is the three-star event with the highest purse in the country and includes four world ranking jump competitions.

The show again promises to be a very special one for both riders and spectators. Everywhere bears the unique hallmark of Gaston Glock’s wife and GHPC managing director Kathrin Glock. The industrialist had the GHPC built for his wife and in 2010 entrusted her with the international positioning of the flagship equestrian facility in the south of Carinthia.

At 12.45pm on Thursday, the top event starts with the opening jumping for all the tours. Equestrian sports fans have free admission to the heated indoor GHPC arena where they can enjoy the exciting competitions for amateurs, young horses and top-level riders. The absolute highlight of the four-day equestrian event is GLOCK’s Grand Prix, the finale on Sunday (2 February) offering €100,000 in prize money.

Competitors include Carinthia’s local heroes Gerfried and Robert Puck, Austria’s number one Dieter Köfler, Stefan Eder, outstanding lady Julia Kayser, European Championship riders Roland Englbrecht and Christian Schranz and Austrian evergreens Hugo Simon and Thomas Frühmann. Also there will be a large number of international stars such as Olympic, World and European Champion, Aachen and World Cup winner Jos Lansink (BEL), double silver medallist at the London Olympics, World and European Champion Gerco Schröder (NED), his fellow London silver medallists Jur Vrieling and Marc Houtzager, British show jumping legend John Whitaker and twice overall winner of the Global Champions Tour Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS).

If you want to see all the equestrian stars in action, you can come to the indoor arena where admission is free every day or watch live stream at www.ghpc.at.
