Friday, 18 May 2012 Alps-Adriatic Dressage Trophy CDN-A* | CDN-B | CDNP-B at the GHPC

Double victory for Caroline Kottas-Heldenberg – Peter Gmoser wins the Intermediaire II and the Carinthians are in fine form!

The first day of the Alps-Adriatic Dressage Trophy saw a strong start. The sun was shining, and so was the Glock Horse Performance Center, which left participants nearly speechless when they arrived yesterday. A truly luxurious tent city has been built here, with two storeys, white-and-pink décor, and even a small pool to dip your feet in, as well as a broad range of delicacies catered by Do & Co.

The performances by numerous competitors in the various events early this morning were just as crisp and cool as the weather. Styrian Birgit Wetzelhütter, riding the smart Haflinger Nils, was a step ahead of the competition in the level LP license check, while Carinthian local hero Petra Strack and her stallion Ricardo edged ahead of current Carinthian regional junior champion Kathrin Brugger and her Welsh Pony Selmartin to win the first competition of the Alps-Adriatic Dressage Trophy, dressage level L. In beginners' level A, young Carinthian Livia Steiner and her horse Galliano lost narrowly to Slovenian Mateja Segregur (Fererra). In the second division, however, Styrian Sabrina Reinwald (Boogie Woogie) and Jacqueline Wagner (Lamone) of Lower Austria scored a double home victory. Styria also shone in the two LM dressage events, with wins going to Cornelia Krainz on Der Baron and Christina Dow on Frederic von Bayern. Undefeatable star Caroline Kottas-Heldenberg of Vienna won not only the first dressage level S with the smart black mare Dark Rose, but also dressage level M with the Oldenburger stallion ATP's Darius Royal. The day concluded beautifully with Peter Gmoser's flawless and winning presentation of his horse Transpofix Vanqueur in dressage level S.
