Farewell Dreamy

He took part in the Olympic Games, World & European Championships, has several licensed sons to his name and delighted countless fans; after his years in top international sport beneath his rider Hans Peter Minderhoud, GLOCK’s Dream Boy can boast numerous successes. At the KWPN Stallion Show in the Brabanthallen, this handsome black stallion was given a fitting send-off from the sport.

“He started his career here at the Stallion Show, and the fact that we can say goodbye to him here now, thirteen years later, is wonderful. It couldn’t be better”, said GLOCK Rider Hans Peter in the video message which was played to accompany their joint freestyle at the farewell ceremony.

And so it was that “Dreamy” entered the arena one last time on February 2, 2024 and danced through his musical freestyle under Hans Peter. As expressive as ever, he proved that he is still in top form at the age of 16. The audience gave this son of Vivaldi a standing ovation. The Andeweg family, the breeders, as well as co-owners Tim Coomans, Jacques Maree and Koen Brinkmann, were also present. Dream Boy’s former rider, Gerdine Maree, was also in the audience and enjoyed the emotional moment. Together they won the bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden.

GLOCK’s Dream Boy was presented at Grand Prix level with great success by Hans Peter Minderhoud and was a constant member of the Dutch dressage team for many years. The duo were able to celebrate numerous sporting highlights and won silver at the Dutch Dressage Championships four years in succession. Some of the highlights of GLOCK’s Dream Boy’s long sporting career include participation in the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, the European Championships in Rotterdam and the World Cup Final in Gothenburg. They were also part of the Dutch national team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and the European Championships in Hagen.

GLOCK’s Dream Boy brings together the three most important stallion lines in the Netherlands and was the first KWPN-licensed son of Vivaldi in the prized black color, combining the famous stallions Krack C and Jazz in his pedigree. His damsire Ferro is the sire of Edward Gal’s famous Olympic horse GLOCK’s Undercover and grandsire of Olympic champion Valegro. He himself won bronze at the 2014 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and already has several licensed sons and prize-winning daughters.

Now GLOCK’s Dream Boy will enjoy his well-deserved sporting retirement on the extensive meadows of the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Netherlands, assigned exclusively to breeding.
