Five CSI5* placings for Gerco

Every year the unique Longines Masters Series brings the glitter and glamour of top-class sport to the three most important metropolises in the world: Paris, Hong Kong and New York. The Longines Masters in Hong Kong has been part of this impressive series since 2013 and, in 2017, received the distinction of “Best live experience at a professional sporting event” at the Sports Industry Awards in Asia.

This year again, from 15-17/02/2019, the best show jumping riders in the world came together at AsiaWorld-Expo, the trade fair, convention and exhibition centre by Hong Kong International Airport. Among them was GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder, who brought along eleven-year-old GLOCK’s Debalia and eleven-year-old Davino Q to Hong Kong.

It was already on Friday (15/02) that Gerco’s four-legged partners showed themselves to be in top fitness. The Dutchman was to stand on the winners’ podium right at the start because, in the 5-star AsiaWorld-Expo Trophy (1.45 m) riding GLOCK’s Debalia, he remained magnificently penalty-free and jumped to second place. On Saturday the well-practised duo then went on to take tenth place in the Longines Speed Challenge, a world ranking competition over 1.50 m, and rounded off the record of success with a penalty-free round and fifth place in the DBS Trophy (1.45 m | LR) on Sunday.

Eleven-year-old Davino Q, ridden by GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder, also put on a magnificent show and, following 12th place in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy (1.50 m | LR), took an outstanding seventh place on Sunday in the CSI5* Longines Grand Prix of Hong Kong.
