Horses & stars at two and four-star event

The competition here will be stiff, as no fewer than 147 show jumpers of an unprecedented level from 26 nations and over 300 horses are making the journey to Carinthia. With 24 riders out of the top 100 in the world rankings, seven Olympic, seven World and eleven European Champions as well as three World Cup winners, the four-star jump premiere at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER will be really something.

Top of the start-studded lineup is the current number six in the world, Steve Guerdat (SUI). The Swiss-born European Champion has silver and bronze under his belt and won gold at the 2012 London Olympics. There he was the only rider to finish the individual final with two clear rounds. It was an incredible achievement, topping his 2008 Olympic bronze medal and adding the crown to his collection. At the GHPC, he will be riding his top horses Jalisca Solier that has already won him medals at Olympic Games and European championships and Sidney VIII that has been successful in the world’s most difficult jumping arenas.

Ranked ten in the world, Marcus Ehning (GER) will also be competing at the GHPC. The Olympic, World and triple European Champion from Westphalia is regarded as having an exceptional feel for horses. Fans can admire him at the GHPC with his World and European Championship horse Nolte’s Küchengirl.

Evergreen John Whitaker (GBR) has won 18 championship medals in his career. His performances on grey gelding Milton, with which he won the World Cup twice and became European Champion, will remain unforgettable. The experienced Briton is famous for his ability to adjust to horses within a short space of time.

Janne Friederike Meyer (GER) embodies the next successful generation. The World and European Champion has also won the Grand Prix at the famous CHIO Aachen and will rely on her golden horse Cellagon Lambrasco at the GHPC.

A very special couple does well however difficult the courses or high the fences. The double team bronze medallist at Olympics and silver medallist at the Pan American Games, Alvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto (BRA), and his wife Athina Onassis de Miranda (GRE) are coming to the GHPC for the first time in July.

Also competing here will be the Olympic and World Champion, gold and silver medallist at the Pan American Games, Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), who must have inherited his talent in the jumping saddle from his equally world famous father Nelson Pessoa. It will not be easy though, as the Olympic, World and European Champions Jos Lansink, Marc Houtzager, Maikel van der Vleuten and Jur Vrieling have also entered.

The event starts on 4 July, admission is free and the show jumping will be first class!
