Saturday, 01 February 2014 CSI1* GLOCK's SMALL TOUR FINALE – 1.20 m

Johanna Sixt’s amazing GLOCK’s Small Tour final!

Today’s competitions got off to an exciting start with the grand CSI1* GLOCK’s Small Tour final. It was a 1.20 m accumulator with joker, which meant the 17 pairs competing would get points for every obstacle. To win the final, however, the riders needed a clear round including the last joker jump to gain double points at the end.

The lady jumpers definitely did not hold back here but, like yesterday, the youngest of them was way out in front. Although Johanna Sixt from Burgenland is only 15 years old, the runner-up Junior Austrian Champion gave a textbook demonstration with her Anturio today. She was no less than nine seconds faster than second-placed Katrin Pfingstl (AUT/Carinthia), speeding through the finish in a breathtaking time of 51.12 seconds with maximum points to clinch the win!

“I’m so pleased and really delighted I was allowed to ride here,” said Johanna smiling at the winner’s interview with Dorian Steidl who asked what her ambition is. “At some stage I’d also like to be one of the top riders and maybe even win an Olympic medal!”

Alpenspan-Remus Ladies Team member Katrin Pfingstl aboard seven-year-old Cuela also remained under the 60 second mark. Her 59.93 seconds and all 65 points put her in runner-up spot, edging her team mate Sandra Köfler into third place. The Carinthian was fast too and produced a clear round with her Westphalian gelding Chaquino. A total of 65 points in 62.18 seconds not only meant third in the final for the duo but also the third placing in succession!
