Seth Boschman of the Netherlands wins dressage level S and the Styrians are in top form – a report on Saturday's competition

Under the blue sky of a gorgeous May day, Carinthia joined Hildegard Seidl (Delia-87) in celebrating the first victory early Saturday morning in the LP license check. Livia Steiner of Carinthia and Sabrina Reinwald of Styria won the two beginners' divisions, while Germany's Ursula Wagner rode Barnebie to victory in dressage level L, triumphing over Carinthian Kathrin Brugger on Selmartin, her smart Welsh Pony.

In dressage level LM, yesterday's winner Christina Dow took first place again on her horse Frederic von Bayern. Today's big story in dressage class M was Styrian Jacqueline Toniutti, who as final starter snatched away the win from under the nose of Vienna's Caroline Kottas-Heldenberg, then went on to take third place. In the first dressage level S, by contrast, Seth Boschman of the Netherlands was the undisputed winner.

The highlight of the day, however, was the eagerly awaited evening musical freestyle test under the floodlights. The arena of the Glock Horse Performance Center shone nearly as bright as day as Belinda Weinbauer, returning from her 13-year-old horse Debut Dallas's two-year-long injury break, created a sensation. The dream team from the Burgenland performed in excellent harmony with the music, garnering first place with 71.083 points. "I'm nearly speechless and I'm close to tears," Weinbauer said. "And I'm so happy he's healthy again, that's the biggest gift of all for me today." Another success was the performance by Karin Kosak on 11-year-old Rhinelander mare Lucy's Day, which earned 70.958 points for second place. International guest Seth Boschman of the Netherlands, riding Twister RVL, could also be pleased with 70.125 points and third place.
