Victory for Gerco and GLOCK’s London at the Sportland Salzburg Grand Prix

Every year Amadeus Horse Indoors is the meeting point for equestrian sports people, fans, leisure riders and families. From December 7th-10th, 2017, more than 44,000 visitors swarmed into Salzburg Messezentrum and the best show-jumping riders competed in the CSI4* at Salzburgarena. After top placings with 9-year-old KWPN mare GLOCK’s Debalia over 1.45 m (9th place) and GLOCK’s Zaranza over 1.50 m (5th place), Gerco was able to crown his participation with a sensational victory in the Grand Prix.

The selective course of the Sportland Salzburg Grand Prix, with prize money totalling 100,000 euros, at the 12th Amadeus Horse Indoors led riders over 1.60 m and required the full focus of both riders and horses from the first to the last obstacle. In the saddle on his Olympic horse, GLOCK’s London, in the jump-off, Gerco drew ahead of his competitors magnificently as the 15-year-old Belgian gelding presented put on a top show. The practised duo found exactly the right mix of speed and caution, achieving the acclaimed victory in 40.22 seconds. “I am particularly happy about this victory because, after his long break due to injury, London jumped just so well and felt perfect over the obstacles”, said the beaming GLOCK Rider at the award ceremony.
