Sunday, 05 February 2012 Competition 15: Silver Tour – 1.40 m – with jump-off

Youth conquers all – Martin Fuchs, winner of the Silver Tour final

With his Oldenburg mare Lalik, a willingness to take risks and the carefree attitude of youth, 19-year-old Martin Fuchs flew across the 1.40m-high course in today's Silver Tour final. The young Swiss rider is considered an enormous talent and has already notched up several victories at European Championships as well as an Olympic medal, despite his young age.

Today he gained almost one and a half seconds on his notoriously fast fellow-rider Emanuele Gaudiano from Italy (with Dassino), thus securing first place at this world ranking competition with prize money of 23,000 Euros. His time: 25.21 seconds. Third came the winner of yesterday's Youngster Tour finale, Daniel Deusser (GER), with daughter of Cumano Zr "Comme d'Api vd Hacienda".

Austria could as always rely on Hugo Simon, this time with up-and-coming horse C.T. (descendant of Casall) at 14th place and Upper Austrian Iris Murray at 16th place with her 12-year-old gelding Cash Flow IV.
