Lotje Schoots and Ruby open the U25 Tour with a Dutch victory

She has taken European Championship gold four times: three times in the individual and once in the team event. In the first competition for the U25 Tour (test: FEI Intermediate II, 2009) Lotje Schoots (NED) shone again today on her 15-year old Gribaldi daughter Ruby with a well-earned 70.816%. Jill de Ridder (GER) has obviously also inherited a talent for equestrian sport. The daughter of successful international trainer Ton de Ridder was riding an experienced Gribaldi son, 18-year-old Wellington. Having performed harmoniously, she earned 69.526% to take runner-up spot ahead of Danielle van Mierlo (NED) who scored 69.026% on her Metall son BMC Ucento for third.

“I’ve just been riding Ruby for a few months. This was only our second test, which is why I’m really happy today,” said the winner beaming at the interview. “The whole show here is simply unbelievable. It was a long trip but I’m so glad I decided to come here. My thanks to the Glocks. It’s absolutely superb. Thank you!”
