GLOCK’s Cognac Champblanc becomes "Nederlands Olympiade Paard"

The Dutch foundation "Nederlands Olympiade Paard" (Dutch Olympic Horse), in short N.O.P., aims to secure the best rider-horse combinations of its country for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016 in collaboration with the corresponding horse owners. The chefs d’équipe are the ones who decide who among their respective disciplines will be included in the programme of the foundation.

Three GLOCK horses have already be given this honour: GLOCK’s London N.O.P. who, under GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder, has won two silver medals in the Olympic Games in London 2012 as well as team gold medal in the World Equestrian Games in Caen 2014. GLOCK’s Undercover N.O.P. who, with GLOCK Rider Edward Gal, contributed to the Olympic bronze medal in London 2012 and to team gold in the European Championships in Aachen 2015. As well as GLOCK’s Johnson TN N.O.P. who, with GLOCK Rider Hans Peter Minderhoud in the saddle, won individual bronze (Grand Prix Special) and team gold in the European Championships in Aachen 2015, as well as the team bronze medal in the World Equestrian Games in Caen 2014.

Recently the powerful jumper GLOCK’s Cognac Champblanc was also given the much-treasured affix N.O.P.. GLOCK rider Gerco Schröder was part of the winning team in the European Championships in Aachen 2015 with the 13-year-old Holstein gelding from Clearway and helped the Dutch équipe to come third in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ finale. Thus Gerco is currently the only rider who has made it into the N.O.P. programme with two horses.
