USA on top in the GLOCK’s Small Tour

Awaiting today’s duos participating in the GLOCK’s Small Tour was a course over 1.15 m. In this standard jumping competition over 1.15 m, eight of the 19 rider-horse duos who started succeeded in remaining penalty-free. For the first time this weekend, victory went to the USA, represented by Molly Ohrstrom and her 13-year-old Jimy, son of Casall. This practised duo succeeded in leaving the competition behind with a penalty-free round in a rapid 65.51 seconds. Understandably beaming at the winner’s interview, the 50-year-old female rider said “I’m very happy to have the chance to be here, it really is a fantastic tournament. My horse jumped superbly, but I didn’t reckon on winning.”

Madelein Brugman from the Netherlands also did everything right, piloting her 12-year-old Holstein mare Chica Mia immaculately over the 1.15 m course to take second place in precisely 66 seconds. Barely 12 hundredths of a second later, Veronika Meisinger (GER) on Cukkini, her just seven-year-old son of Comte, crossed the line for third place.

Austria achieved a total of five placings for the hosting country, namely fourth place for Dominik Wessely (B) on Unitaire, eighth place for Claudia Kloodt (K) on Orki de Vy, tenth place for Klara Goess-Saurau (B) on l’Alme Z, eleventh place for Pia Sophie Semorad (B) on Rival de Raches and twelfth place for Andreas Wessely (B) on Grace Kelly PZW.
