Welcome GLOCK’s Brilliant Berlin!
Sometimes it’s love at first sight and, with 6-year-old gray gelding GLOCK’s Brilliant Berlin and Gerco Schröder, that was definitely the case. Brimming with ability, this youngster from the well-known breeders A. van Doorn-Brinks (NED) comes with another altogether important link to his future rider, being a descendant of that famous gray gelding, Berlin, on whom Gerco rode from one success to another back in his Eurocommerce days.
Gerco Schröder and that son of Cassini I became Team World champion(s) in Aachen, as well as Team European champion(s) in Mannheim, celebrated a number of victories in Grands Prix and Nations Cups, the horse gaining approval for KWPN, Oldenburg and Holstein, Hanover, SF and UNIRE and receiving "keur" rating for his breeding performance. Many experts saw the gray stallion as one of the best horses of the 2000s. From his dam Torsinaa, GLOCK’s Brilliant Berlin, this gray gelding bred in the Netherlands has the best Holsteiner blood in turn from that well-known sire Corland, who achieved great success under Wout-Jan van der Schans, delivered numerous top-progeny and has world-famous Nimmerdor in his pedigree via his damsire. This horse in turn brought together the best of Holsteiner and Dutch KWPN genes and, following his successes in show jumping under Albert Voorn (NED), was for many years one of the most sought-after sires for show jumping horses in Europe.
“GLOCK’s Brilliant Berlin is a youngster blessed with lots of ability, who made an impression on me ridden by Megan Laseur at a tournament at the end of August 2020. Then I tried him out and was really happy with him. He jumps in a way that’s clever and super-easy. I’m very grateful to GLOCK for their trust in me and that I am once again the recipient of a great young horse. Now we’ll get accustomed to one another and I’m already looking forward to the future with him!”, said Gerco Schröder of his new youngster, in whose veins courses the blood of the famous Eurocommerce Berlin.
