Sensational World Cup debut for GLOCK’s Toto Jr.
GLOCK Rider Hans Peter Minderhoud and GLOCK’s Toto Jr. enjoyed two firsts at the five-star tournament in Lyon: In addition to his first World Cup start, the 13-year-old son of Totilas also took part in the first musical freestyle of his career.
The Grand Prix on the evening of Halloween served as qualification for the decisive musical freestyle. With an overall score of 72.978%, Hans Peter and GLOCK’s Toto Jr. danced to sixth place among the strong field of participants, thus securing their start for Friday evening. “I’m really pleased with the test”, said Hans Peter afterwards, “it’s our first big indoor tournament and he was really focused.”
GLOCK’s Toto Jr. was then completely impressive in the musical freestyle: wonderful piaffes and passages, lots of expression in the lateral movements and a successful canter tour. The duo cracked the 80% mark at the first attempt in the freestyle premiere and took a sensational fourth place:
“I’m really happy! He was absolutely focused in our new routine, the audience loved it, Toto loved it, I loved it. So it was a really fantastic evening at this top show here in Lyon - thanks to everyone!”
