Mr. Speed strikes again

Whenever it’s about fast times on the international show jumping stage, one guy always stands out: Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA). A reputation the ‘azzurro’ proved impressively once again at today’s CSI5* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour. He had saddled up the eight-year-old mare Inca’s Big Think for the accumulator with joker competition over 1.45 m, remained penalty-free over the ten obstacles including joker and collected the maximum of 65 points in 48.42 seconds.

As the last of 27 to start, he pushed Laura Renwick (GBR) with Heliodor Hybris (of Diamant de Semilly), who had led till that point, into second place (65/49.33) and had two things to celebrate. “Winning is always lovely, but this is the first big tournament for Inca and me here. That makes it really special. She’s only eight but really jumped superbly.”

Eva Bitter (GER) was the second lady on the podium. She steered the elegant nine-year-old stallion Inliner to the finishing line in 51.11 seconds, thus achieving third place. Upper-Austrian rider Roland Englbrecht and his ten-year-old Loki Doki, son of Lupicor, celebrate eighth place (65/55.71), whilst Gerfried Puck (AUT/St) and Davey came eleventh (65/56.36).
