Youth beats routine

Just 17 years old and yet, today, he left his 25 competitors in the GLOCK’s 2* Tour behind by quite a margin. Gaj Riossa (SLO) and the immensely fast KWPN gelding Dakota gave a strong performance in the two-phase jumping over 1.45 m and secured victory with the fastest of the six clear rounds that were achieved. “You can only get better through a great deal of training. On the course I simply try to implement everything I’ve planned to do.” was the young rider’s comment on his recipe for success.

A good two seconds behind the Slovenian was Marianne Schindele (AUT/K). With her 14-year-old Outlaw on whom she won yesterday, she landed in second place today in a time of 41.55 seconds. Third-placed Wilton Porter (USA) had also notched up one victory on his Holsteiner, Patriot, bred from Colman, and came in third today (0/42.32). In seventh and eighth places were another two Austrian female riders. Alice Janout (AUT/NÖ) and Cornet 2 came seventh with one knock-down (4/46.45), whilst Marie-Luise Abraham (AUT/K) and Zazou came eighth (4/46.73).
