01 Prix St Georges

Dressage queen Isabell Werth (GER) shines at the Prix St Georges – young talent Timna Zach (Carinthia) a surprise in fourth place

"From the floor to the stables and the officials to the staff, it is an absolutely fantastic venue. I can safely say I've seen a number of them now across the world, but this here is unique, thank you so much!" Isabell Werth, Germany's dressage queen, was the first to bring a touch of Olympic glamour to the arena at the CDI3* Prix St Georg in the Glock Horse Performance Center today and the crowds loved it. The panel of judges also came to the best unanimous decision she could wish for: first place five times over. There was no topping that. Her score of 72.342% also deserves a mention. The many times Olympic gold medallist, World and European Champion cut a fine figure in the saddle of her eleven-year-old Dormello descendent Der Stern OLD. Looking anything but old, he showed good impulsion, elegance and response to the aids.

Although runner-up Stefanie Palm was some distance behind, the dressage rider from Tyrol and her only eight-year-old grey gelding put in a performance (69.421%) that bodes well for the future.

Sabine Dürrheim (AUT) was also delighted with Hans im Glück. The rider from Burgenland and her nine-year-old Oldenburg bred Harvard son again showed how consistent they are in the test today, finishing third with 69.158%. GLOCK young rider Timna Zach (Carinthia) smiled from ear to ear following her first CDI3* performance with Glock's Flirt De Lully. The judges awarded her 68.974%, which was the sensational fourth place for the 20-year-old from Carinthia.
