GLOCK’s Johnson TN

KWPN stallion Johnson is of the finest pedigree. While the 12-year-old Jazz son shows fantastic movement mechanics and excellent basic gaits in the arena, as a breeding stallion he also has some brilliant offspring to his name. Now called GLOCK’s Johnson TN, he is destined to take the dressage arenas of the world by storm under GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud.
As a young stallion, Johnson (Jazz – Flemmingh – Sultan) won the KWPN show in 2005, came fourth in the Ermelo performance test and in 2007 made it to the final of the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.

The expressive bay with the attractive dressage pedigree then continued to succeed at the highest international level. This year he put in excellent performances at his first big events with Hans Peter Minderhoud, finishing sixth at the CDI-W in Neumünster (GER), fourth at the CDI-W in Gothenburg (SWE) and fifth at the CDI-W in ’s-Hertogenbosch.
“I’m incredibly happy that Johnny is now part of our GLOCK team,” said GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud delighted with the wonderful new addition. The horse was previously solely owned by the Nijhof stud. Hans Peter, Olympic silver medallist, World Cup winner, World and European Champion from the Netherlands, started riding the elegant KWPN stallion when he was three and therefore knows him inside out.

“He’s a real gentleman, is always friendly and loves the work. Johnson was highly successful as a young horse, has now shown he can also perform well at the big dressage events and is in sparkling form,” said Hans Peter Minderhoud looking forward to the upcoming Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Final in Lyon (FRA) where he will be presenting GLOCK’s Johnson TN.

The 12-year-old KWPN stallion GLOCK’s Johnson TN is a son of Jazz that also sired Adelinde Cornelissen’s Parzival and competed at World Championship level under Tineke Bartels. Ridden by Anky van Grunsven, Johnson’s grandsire Cocktail also caused an international sensation. Damsire Flemmingh has earned a great reputation for breeding, having produced Anky van Grunsven’s Krack C and Edward Gal’s famous stallion Lingh to name but a few. Johnson goes back to the famous NL-merrielijn 8, also known as the Reina line. It ranks among the most important bloodlines in the Netherlands, including such world famous horses as Darkdream, Sultan, Mendel, Charmeur and Waldo in its pedigree. GLOCK’s Johnson TN has already produced outstanding progeny, first and foremost the approved sons Bretton Woods, Breezer and Jack Sparrow.

Although competing in events, GLOCK’s Johnson TN will still be available to the Nijhof stud for breeding purposes.
