CSI5* International Show Jumping: it’s time for the off!

From February 1st – 3rd  2019, the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER AUSTRIA opens its doors for the new season and, from this year, is also staging the Season Opening as a 5-star show jumping event. Expected at International Show Jumping are the best riders in the world from 16 nations with more than 190 horses. As every year, excitement is growing at the prospect of such an exceptionally large complement of top-class, star-athletes.

Twelve thrilling course events

For a total of twelve events, fans can cheer on their own personal idols from Friday till Sunday at GHPC Austria. At stake for the riders are not only the prize pot of 597,000 euros but also five shots at points for the World Ranking list. In Gaston Glock’s Championat on Saturday (02/02/2019) alone, 94,000 euros will be awarded and the GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix on Sunday (03/02) features 344,000 euros of prize money. The competitions for youngster horses and the opportunity to bring Grand-Prix-contender horses to the start in the international 2-star competitions, render the Season Opening particularly attractive to the stars of the show jumping scene. So it’s no wonder that, alongside the 29 riders from among the current top 100 in the world, so many Olympic winners, World and European champions have registered.

All tour competitions will open on Friday (01/02) from 9am. From this moment on you can enjoy free entry to watch in awe exciting sporting performances ranging from seven and eight-year-old youngster horses to top professionals. The ultimate highlight will be the GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix, starting on Sunday (03/02) around 3:30pm and rejoicing in 344,000 euros of prize money.

Featuring the crème de la crème of the show jumping elite
You can look forward to seeing not only red-white-red top-athletes like Austria’s number one, Max Kühner (T), who drew international attention with his sixth placing at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA), and the outstanding Julia Kayser from Tyrol, but also performances by the current world number one, bronze medallist Steve Guerdat (SUI), world number four and winner of Gaston Glock’s Championat of Vienna, Daniel Deusser (GER), and his championship colleague and GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix winner (2016) Christian Ahlmann, as well as young star and multiple Grand-Prix-winner Bertram Allen (IRL), GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix winner (2015) and championship rider Pius Schwizer (SUI) and, of course, GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder (NED).

The exclusivity of the event is reflected not only in the distinguished field of starters. The particular flair of tournaments held at the GHPC Austria is internationally renowned and carries the personal signature of managing director Kathrin Glock in every detail. Awaiting all participants and visitors are not only sporting highlights but also a truly magical world revolving around breathtaking design, exquisite catering, inspiring live acts by show stars and touching charity initiatives for people and animals in need.

About the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER
Industrialist Gaston Glock handed his wife Kathrin responsibility for achieving international positioning of the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER in 2010. Today not only world champions, Olympic medal holders and European champions but also international show stars are delighted to attend the tournaments.

Free entry to the Cooking Lounge
German star chef Alfons Schuhbeck will gain be delighting all at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER and in his Cooking Lounge. The cooking shows take place on Friday and Saturday at 11am, 2pm and 5pm and on Sunday at 11am and 2pm. All visitors to the tournament enjoy free entry to the cooking shows.

Free entry to all competitive events
For all visitors there’s free entry to the grandstand in the tournament hall. In the Kids Lounge there’s a guarantee of fun and entertainment for the little ones. The dogs aren’t forgotten either: at the Dog Lounge there are plenty of treats and the finest of massages (by appointment and subject to availability).
