A textbook test by Valentina Truppa in the CDI4* Grand Prix de Dressage

At the hands of Valentina Truppa (ITA), who ranks seventh in the world, Fixdesign Eremo del Castegno showed that he was in fantastic form with one of the best piaffes, a very good walk, well placed pirouettes, fluid transitions and nicely balanced canter changes. A score of 75.064% was easily enough for the Italian and her 12-year-old Rohdiamant son to win the CDI4* opening competition, the qualifier for the CDI4* Grand Prix Special. Filling runner-up spot, Claudia Fassaert (BEL) showed her strength on 13-year-old Donnerfee and concentrated hard during the test to finish up with 70.872%, just ahead of GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud (NED) on GLOCK’s Romanov. The Dutchman only recently started riding the Oldenburg stallion that was also sired by Rohdiamant. Here at their debut there was clearly still scope for fine tuning but above all their learning curve was steep (70.681%).

A successful test gave Karin Kosak (Styria) on Lucy’s Day 67.043% for seventh, Alpenspan team rider Peter Gmoser (Burgenland) scored 67.021% with his Idocus son Two To Tango (8th) and Belinda Weinbauer (Burgenland) on 14-year-old Debut Dallas was awarded 67.000% (9th).
