All roads lead to GHPC: equestrian stars at GLOCK’s CSI5*
The 5-star edition of International Show Jumping at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Austria is resplendent by virtue of its breathtaking setting, unique atmosphere and top-notch international show acts. The crème de la crème of international show jumping stars will be pouring in from around 20 nations, accompanied by their best horses. Here at the GHPC Austria from June 8th till 10th 2018 they will have the opportunity to take part in jumping competitions with large prize pots, strive for victory in the GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix and potentially qualify for the 2018 World Equestrian Games and 2019 European Championships.
Martin’s and Steve’s one-two
Olympic winner, twice World Cup winner and European Champion: the list of successes for Steve Guerdat (SUI) is truly impressive. The 36-year-old Swiss rider first achieved top podium position in the GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix in 2017, joint first with his young compatriot Martin Fuchs. Meanwhile Fuchs, just 25 years old, secured his third GLOCK’s Grand Prix victory in February 2018 and now leads the list of first-placings at GHPC Austria.
Gerco’s home game
Twice Olympic silver medal winner at London 2012, as well as team world champion in Caen 2014 and team European champion in Aachen 2015, GLOCK rider Gerco Schröder (NED), will be able to count on particularly strong support from spectators. He is travelling with GLOCK’s Dobelensky, GLOCK’s Lausejunge and GLOCK’s Zaranza to his second sporting home. This Dutch rider will be getting support from colleagues including Olympic silver medallist Marc Houtzager and 19-year-old Sanne Thijssen, who has already represented The Netherlands at the Nations Cup and is recognised as a shooting star on the show jumping scene.
Beezie’s Amazon power
A huge amount of experience on the course, numerous successes at championships and then 2018 World Cup victory to top it off. US-American Elisabeth Madden knows what she’s doing. She has the affectionate nickname “Beezie” among her fellow equestrian athletes and, in equestrian sport, her word counts. During her career, this 55-year-old rider from New York has won not only two World Cup Finals (2018 and 2013), but also three Olympic medals, two World Championship medals and three medals at the Pan-Am Games. But her tally of success is still missing victory in GLOCK’s 5* Grand Prix, so one may expect a corresponding level of ambition from her.
There is also avid anticipation of the performance to be expected from the world’s number 3, Daniel Deusser (GER), who will be saddling up his top horses, Cornet, Cassini Bay and Killer Queen VDM, at GHPC Austria. Twice World Cup Final winner Beezie Madden (USA) is bringing Coach and HHS Hercules to the start, while Max Kühner (AUT) is putting his trust in Cielito Lindo 2, Cornet Kalua and PSG Final. Team European Champion and individual bronze medallist at the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg, Cian O’Connor (IRL), will contest victory on Exelero 2, Good Luck and Veneno. Three times GLOCK’s Grand Prix winner Martin Fuchs (SUI) is coming to GHPC Austria with Chica B Z and Dubai Du Bois Pinchet. The winner of the 2018 CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix of Windsor, Steve Guerdat (SUI), has selected three top horses, namely Corbinian, Ulysse Des Forets and Venard De Cerisy.
Everyone who would like to experience the riding and ridden stars close-up will have the chance to do so from Friday till Sunday (08-10/06/2018) at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER.
