Farewell and the desire for goose pimples!

You would almost think the team is a little bit sad today – strange as that may sound before such a major event as the Olympic Games. But everyone has grown fond of Lavender Hill, the training facilities were just perfect and also ideal for the team to become closer and feel really strong together.

There was pressure on everyone in the Dutch team and each in a different way. However, no one has arguably changed the face of modern dressage like Edward Gal with his world famous performances on Totilas. Now the whole world wants to know how Edward will fare with GLOCK's Undercover. Is he scared of failing? "Not really scared," admits Edward, "you're naturally disappointed if things don't go as well as planned. It used to bother me for at least two weeks but now I cope much better. I'm also aware that Frits and I will be compared with Totilas, but that's normal. I want that feeling back myself. I want to give the audience goose pimples again!" Do you feel that when you are concentrating so hard in the arena? "Yes," he replies with conviction. "I do! It's like a wave, a surge of energy from the audience to you. That is indescribable!"
