Fast Amateur Tour win for Lisa Candin – Katharina Leitsberger in third

She set off at high speed, trusted in the right horse to do the job and in the end had the Amateur Tour win in the bag. The clock stopped at 44.48 seconds, a time that no one came near to matching. After carrying off first prize in the Amateur Tour yesterday, Lisa Candin, the young Romanian talent, stood on the winner’s podium today for the second time with her 17-year-old mare Remember Z. Naturally she was overjoyed.

Second place went to Switzerland’s Elin Ott on Exclusieve van T Zorgvliet with a fast time of 47.85 seconds and a young Carinthian talent then claimed third. Katharina Leitsberger, the reigning Austrian champion in Junior I who also took part in the 2011 children’s European championships, went clear today in 49.51 seconds with her Michael in the 1.20 m class to add another top placing to her track record. Promising is what can also be said about Carinthia’s 2012 regional champion, Brigit Peintner. Last year she won the Amateur Tour and today, having finished fourth on Cazzano Z, gave an indication of what we can expect from her in the Amateur Tour final on Sunday.

The other Austrians to be placed today were Carinthia’s young talent Nika Kulmitzer on Laptop V in sixth, Lower Austria’s Norbert Wiener on Quinaro R in seventh, Carinthia’s Sandra Köfler on Chaquino in ninth, Lower Austria’s Katharina Helm on Widney in tenth, Styria’s Gudrun Pirker on Alpenspan Citadelle in eleventh and Carinthia’s Franziska Binder on Laetizia in twelfth position.
