GLOCK riders rack up national and international successes in Wiener Neustadt and Weikersdorf

An important event, the CDN-A in Weikersdorf (Lower Austria) with its indoor cup always attracts many dressage riders. GLOCK young rider Timna Zach also put in an appearance here with her trainer, GLOCK rider Marcel Schoenmakers, from 16 to 18 November. Having been laid off with an injury, the Dutchman finally celebrated his comeback to the saddle which we can safely say was a success: with GLOCK’s Grandioso he came sixth (Intermediaire I) and third (Grand Prix de Dressage) in the S dressage to take second place in the Grand Prix indoor cup standings.

Timna Zach managed to stay on top form this weekend. The young rider first performed well on the M tour with two wins on GLOCK’s Federleicht, which also gave her the lead in the M indoor cup standings. With 11-year-old GLOCK’s Flirt de Lully and two second places as well as GLOCK’s Cambridge, a 9-year-old bred in Austria, and a tenth and a seventh place, the 20-year-old showed great sensitivity on the S tour and is now in second place in the S indoor cup standings with GLOCK’s Flirt de Lully and eighth with GLOCK’s Cambridge.

At the same time Gerfried Puck presented the young GLOCK show jumpers at the CSI2* Wiener Neustadt (16–18 November 2012). Five-year-old GLOCK’s Celebration kept up a high level on all three days. On Friday Puck finished fourth with the Ovidius son (four faults in 59.32 seconds). Saturday saw the combination making it to the top. A clear round in a time of 64.23 seconds was good for first place. On Sunday Puck easily qualified for the jump-off with GLOCK’s Celebration. A knock-down in the challenging short course during the final for five-year-old horses put them in fifth position.

In the class of six-year-old horses there were also three good results for GLOCK’s Chamonix in three starts with sixth, seventh and tenth position.

A number of world ranking points in Vienna

The CSI5* horse show in Vienna from 8 to 12 November was the place to meet the international show jumping elite. As the stars here were both in and under the saddle, it was all the more gratifying that Gerfried Puck did so well with GLOCK’s Usrava and GLOCK’s Wibo B. Right at the start in the Vienna Opening jumping the Carinthian and 11-year-old GLOCK’s Usrava had a clear round which gave them 14th slot and first world ranking points. On Saturday the Vienna Time to Beat, a 1.45 m class against the clock, was not just about world ranking points but also speed and agility. The last pair to start was Gerfried Puck on 11-year-old grey gelding GLOCK’s Wibo B who proved how capable he is of tight turns and high speed. Clocking up 56.53 seconds without any faults, they cantered over the finishing line to win the event. “A lot has changed for me in the recent past,” said Gerfried Puck at the winner’s interview, “I am back in Austria and the partnership with Mr and Mrs Glock has made it possible for me to ride such amazing horses as Wibo. What’s more, in front of such a great audience. Today is a perfect day for me!” added Puck delighted at the awards ceremony and did a lap of honour on GLOCK’s Wibo B with the crowd clapping wildly.
