Sunday, 02 September 2012 Perfection for top performance

Glock’s young rider Timna Zach is the new Austrian Young Rider Dressage Champion

She has only been working with him for a month, but the combination is perfect. Timna Zach, a 20-year-old up-and-coming dressage talent, who recently started working as a trainer for the Glock Horse Performance Center in Carinthia, and the Swiss warmblood gelding Glock's Flirt de Lully, celebrated their premiere today at the Austrian Young Rider Dressage Championship (in Auhof Fernitz) by taking the title home to Carinthia.

It was still a close call in the first test for the Carinthian combination trained by Marcel Schoenmakers (GHPC): the GHPC team may have clinched a win again here (70.737%), but Lower Austria’s Franziska Fries with Alassio's Boy showed themselves at their best and were only just behind on 70.553%.

Nerves of steel and an excellent performance were what was needed at today’s final for the championship. Only a flawless finish in the second S class test could win the day. No problem for the dream team from Carinthia. The judges awarded Timna Zach and Glock's Flirt De Lully 71.686% and all put them in first place – that meant the 2012 Young Rider Championship title!

The next competition for the newly crowned pair from Carinthia is the CDI3* which will be staged from 7 to 9 September at the same time as the star-studded four-star dressage event at the Glock Horse Performance Center (Treffen-Villach). ”Home advantage for me in my new home in Carinthia,” says Timna Zach, who is sponsored by Gaston and Kathrin Glock, delighted.
