It’s her! Bronze Lady Helena Lundbäck

The early bird catches the worm - and goes for gold in Helena Lundbäck’s case, as she put in a superb round early this morning. Looking fresh, the friendly Swede began the international 1.30 m jump class in the Bronze Tour with her 15-year-old Bukowskis 43:an by Larome and did not leave the other 45 starters a ghost of a chance. “It’s absolutely amazing, I’ll do whatever I can to come back every year,” said Helena Lundbäck at the winner’s interview obviously delighted with the atmosphere and facilities catering for both riders and horses here at the GHPC.

She was the only competitor to beat a time of 50 seconds – and by a long way. With 48.19 seconds on the clock she took a commanding lead, nudging Romania’s Andy Candin into second place. He rode Lara Croft, a mare by Toulon that is still quite young.

Once again the best Austrian in the field was Styria’s Markus Saurugg. The current number eight in the Top of Austria rankings did not risk too much with his experienced Austrian warmblood stallion Nino d'Angelo and after yesterday’s win in the Youngster Tour was more than pleased with third.

Three other Austrians were happy to be placed in the class: Barbara Belousek (Styria) in the saddle of Fanatiker V. Dingeshof, Tyrol’s Julia Kayser riding Alicante and the current number one show jumper in the country, Stefan Eder (Salzburg) on Quantana Rue Z.
