Standing ovations for Edward Gal and GLOCK’s Undercover

What an atmosphere, what a success! GLOCK rider Edward Gal shone at the CDI4* Indoor Brabant with 18-year-old Interfloor Next One and two wins in the Grand Prix and Freestyle. The Dutchman also proved that he and the jet black Ferro son GLOCK’s Undercover are rising stars, delighting the spectators at the last World Cup qualifier in the West European League at ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.

A murmur first went through the crowd at the Grand Prix. What GLOCK’s Undercover has learned recently is incredible and he even managed to show it amid the excitement of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage. The two thus not only won over the audience but also the international judges and were rewarded with a total score of 78.617% and second place.

When it came to the World Cup Freestyle on Sunday (17 March) the crowd was in raptures at Secretum Revelatum, Joost Peters’ specially composed music, and by the time Gal saluted at the end everyone was on their feet. It was standing ovations for a freestyle that gave them goose bumps with a highly motivated GLOCK’s Undercover concentrating hard and Edward Gal showing great sensitivity in riding excellent movements to conjure up the famous magic of past times in the dressage arena that day. When the final score of 85.100% flashed up, a mere 0.8 percentage points from top spot, it was clear to everyone at the Brabant show: they had witnessed a great moment and the birth of a new dream team.

GLOCK rider Edward Gal was also moved: “It’s not just because Frits is a black horse, it’s about the feeling … riding a horse that doesn’t want to stop and wants to give everything and more … today was a little bit like the same ‘wow’ feeling I got with another black horse back then. The only difference is I got that one as a young horse and have just been riding Frits for a year, yet he has come on so well. Just give us a little more time. Today I am the happiest rider here!”
