The best comes at the end - Antonia Schnabel (GER) wins Youngster Tour

Today’s class for the up-and-coming young jumpers could hardly have been more exciting. Up until the very last starter it looked like a win for Paulina Koza (POL) on her seven-year-old stallion Banjo Boy bred in the Netherlands. Spurred on by her third place in the Youngster Tour yesterday, the last starter Antonia Schnabel (GER) this time however on Querry, a Quattro B progeny, jumped a brilliant clear round to win. “Thank you to the Glocks for letting me ride here,” said the young German, beaming at the winner’s interview. “It’s not something I take for granted.”

The third lady on the podium today was Sweden’s Erika Lickhammer. She and her mare Bellinda sired by Namelus R, also a seven-year-old, were only narrowly beaten and following their runner-up spot yesterday slotted in at third today.

Cat Ballou, a Cassini II progeny, ridden by multiple national champion Anton Martin Bauer (Lower Austria) jumped into fourth position, which was the best placing for our Austrian riders in this class.

GLOCK rider Gerfried Puck (Styria) piloted his seven-year-old Westphalian gelding GLOCK’s Chamonix B carefully over the demanding course. A slipup at one of the fences resulted in eighth place in the final standings. Siegfried Schlemmer (Styria) on Romy S, Markus Saurugg (Styria) who won yesterday on Zita 94 and Iris Murray (V) with her Valentine d'Arsouilles each had two knockdowns, but in spite of the setbacks still finished in tenth to twelfth place.
