Gerco continues his string of successes

It’s in his blood to encourage young and inexperienced horses, carefully and with great sensitivity, to tackle bigger tasks; we’re talking about the Dutch GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder. Indeed he proved it once again at the CSI2* Drachten (January 12th - 15th, 2017). He started in this event with his two nine-year-old protégés GLOCK’s Debalia and GLOCK’s Dobelensky, along with ten-year-old GLOCK’s Lausejunge, and collected no less than six placings.

GLOCK’s Debalia, who was raised in The Netherlands, gave a magnificent performance in the kick-off event, a two-phase test over 1.35 m, reaching tenth place. GLOCK’s Lausejunge, son of Cornet Obolensky, finished this test coming 13th. Additionally “Lauser” was able to reach sixth place in the jump-off of the Small Tour finale over 1.35 m.

In the Medium Tour over 1.40 m, GLOCK’s Dobelensky, also descended from Cornet Obolensky, showed his class. A calmly ridden, error-free performance under Gerco’s saddle meant 21st place. In the finale over 1.40 m, the elegant bay gelding again managed to avoid touching any of the bars, coming 18th. Finally there was also a place on the podium to be celebrated. Gerco had succeeded in entering the jump-off with GLOCK’s Debalia in the finale of the Big Tour (1.45 m), where the well-rehearsed duo achieved second place.
